Ocelík and Lehotský at the ECPR Virtual Conference

Petr Ocelik co-organized the "Political Networks" program section at the European Consortium for Political Research Virtual Conference. The section consisting of six panels gathered diverse contributions ranging from environmental and climate governance through social movements and contentious politics to discourse-oriented and comparative researches. Petr was further in the role of co-chair and discussant at the "Comparing Political Networks" panel.  

Lukas Lehotsky chaired a panel titled "From Texts to Networks: Semantic, Socio-Semantic and Discourse Networks". The panel showcased both empirical and theoretical works utilizing the extraction of network data from text sources. The panel showcased how network research might benefit from text analysis methods. Diverse empirically and theoretically oriented contributions were presented, ranging from exploration of cannabis policy in the UK through the role of emotions in the EU elections in Germany to novel approach to the measurement of commitment to ideas.
