Department profile

The Department of International Relations and European Studies of the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University was established in 2002 as an academic institute providing European level education in the field of international territorial studies. Its formation is connected with the establishment of the field of study International Relations and European Studies in the academic year 1999/2000.

Today, the department provides bachelor, master and doctoral education in a wide range of fields. It cooperates with similarly profiling workplaces in the Czech Republic and abroad. Of particular importance is cooperation with the International Institute of Political Science of Masaryk University(IIPS MU), an interdisciplinary research center focused on the study of the political, socio-economic and legal development of Czech society and supporting the development and popularization of social science research in political science.
