End of Studies
The final state examination is the conclusive examination of the master degree taken after the successful fulfillment of necessary credit values and all study requirements. Along with the bachelor/master thesis defense it constitutes the legal basis for the award of your bachelor/master title.
The final state examination in Bachelor's/Master’s degree study is usually taken in the sixth/fourth semester. Instructions for acquiring the so-called diploma seminar can be found in the IS page for this course.
In all cases, the students submit the topic of their final thesis in the IS after consultation and approval of their supervisor. Keep in mind that you need to find your supervisor well in advance. Students should contact a potential supervisor based on the department members´ areas of expertise, which can be found here. Students should only contact potential supervisors with 5 or fewer currently supervised theses. All deadlines and relevant dates can be found in the latest schedule .
