BA - International Relations and European Politics
Full-time BA programme offers both coverage across field and the options to specialize deeply in selected tracks.
With a motto of “Challenge yourself to impact the world” the Department of International Relations and European Studies at Masaryk university offers the broadest selection of international programs and courses in the region built with an engaging and diverse student body from all corners of the world. We aim for quality and thriving graduates, broad student choice and partnership, and crucially - a truly international experience.
Our students come from all over the world, which makes studying with us a great educational as well as cultural experience.
Our programmes offer a wide selection of optional courses allowing students to specialize according to their career plans. If specialization in our optional courses is not enough, students are free to branch out and try courses beyond it. From journalism, to law, to forensics, environmental studies, or IT, and much more. Students may enroll in optional courses across the university, broaden their horizons, and even earn up to 10 program credits while doing so.
Although our students are already studying abroad here in the Czech Republic, nothing is stopping them from venturing for a semester or two to other study destinations among the vast European and global network - in fact, we encourage and support our students doing so.
Along with maintaining high academic standards of teaching, we also put great emphasis on practice. We encourage and support students in developing their practical skills through internships, both local and abroad, without interrupting their studies. The study programmes offer ECTS credit compensation for internships and provide students with contact assistance, recommendations, and guidance support.
Over the course of its existence, the Department has gained a solid reputation as a research institution not only in the Czech Republic but also in the whole Central European region. Naturally, research experience of the members of the Department is strongly intertwined with their teaching activities.
In the Energy policy studies programme, together, students, and lecturers comprise the largest social science energy research community in the Central and Eastern Europe.
Whether among the students or with staff, the programmes boast a thriving and interactive community experiencing university life together both within and outside of the confines of faculty grounds amid a thoroughly supportive and engaging environment. We hold social events regularly to make sure word gets around about the best opportunities.
Our graduates represent valuable networks with whom you can engage, as in case of this Facebook group, where alumni, students and lecturers regularly post calls for scholarships and jobs.
