Vladimír Bízik at the conference "Czech and Slovak Islamology 2025: Current Topics and Future Challenges"
On November 13-14, 2025, Vladimír Bízik participated in the conference "Czech and Slovak Islamology 2025: Current Topics and Future Challenges", organized by the Centre for the Study of European Islam of the Faculty of Theology of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Dr. Bízik from our department presented his research focused on Turkish politics and the role of religion in contemporary Turkish nationalism.
The ninth year of this international conference attracted political scientists, religious scholars, orientalists, anthropologists and theologians from Vienna, Prague, Brno, Bratislava and other places and universities in Central Europe. Participants discussed a wide range of topics from Sufism and Islamic art to contemporary politics in the Middle East and Muslim communities in Europe.
