This book focuses on the Nord Stream, South Stream and Nabucco gas pipelines, the system of interconnectors within the North-South Gas Corridor and the two LNG terminals in Poland and Croatia. The aim of the study is to outline possible impact of these projects on the gas flows in Central Europe. The book consists of SWOT analyses of the Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Slovak gas sectors, an evaluation of five scenarios which reflect various combinations of the concerned infrastructure projects, and an analysis of European Union dimension which profoundly influences the Member States’ energy development. For evaluation of the scenarios, a specifically developed MEOS mathematical model and a series of indexes covering the key economic and political dimensions of gas trade are used.
