Party System of the Czech Republic: Political Parties and their Development between 1989 - 1998

The publication offers a comprehensive view on the party system of the Czech Republic in first nearly ten years of its existence and examines it on the systemic as well as unit level. Besides the analysis of the main stages of the development of political parties and their system during their establishment it also offers detailed study of the fates of selected political parties and shows their greatest accomplishments and failures. The book is the first comprehensible elaboration of the development of the party system of the Czech Republic after the so called “velvet revolution”. It reflects the existing research of the parties and Czech party system and sets it into the theoretical context. The book is intended mainly for professional public and student of political science, however, a lot of information may also appeal to general public.
