Vladimir Vučković Led Summer School on Populism in the EU

29 Jul 2025

From July 13 to 26, Vladimir Vučković organized and led a summer school focused on the theme “Populism in the EU: Integration Challenges.” The program brought together students interested in understanding the rise and impact of populism across Europe.

During the two-week course, students explored the theoretical foundations of populism, examining its core concepts and ideological roots. They then applied this knowledge to real-world case studies, analyzing the development and influence of populist movements in countries such as Hungary, Poland, Italy, Austria, France, Netherlands, Montenegro, and Serbia.

The course offered a distinctive academic approach developed by Vučković himself, combining both theory and practice in a way that encouraged critical thinking and comparative analysis. Feedback from participants indicated that the course had a strong positive impact, deepening their understanding of populism and its role in shaping political discourse in Europe.

This summer school not only contributed to students' academic development but also fostered meaningful discussions about the future of European integration in the face of rising populist sentiment.
