Vladimír Černý and Miroslav Mareš published a study entitled "Biowarfare against the Nazis: the ethics, efficacy and consequences of a forgotten operation by the Czech resistance in the Second World War" in the prestigious journal War & Society published by Taylor & Francis. The authors discuss the little-known case of experiments with biological weapons carried out by the anti-Nazi resistance organisation "Obrana národa v Protektorátu Čechy a Morava" (Defence of the Nation in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia) in 1939-1940. Using a large body of archival material, they analyze this case in terms of motivations, related ethical issues, strategy and tactics. They also pay attention to the trials of the actors in this case before the Nazi courts. The study is available at this link .
