New Project on the Transformation of the Czech Heating Sector
This summer marked a starting point for a new project at our department, supported by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic. The project titled "Development of technical and economic scenarios for the transformation of the Czech heating sector" aims at analyzing the current state of the Czech district heating (DH) systems and creating scenarios for the transformation of the heating sector. Researchers will focus mainly on the socio-political context of the transformation since, in Central and Eastern Europe, these systems are often considered to be the leading cause of energy poverty and overall energy-related financial vulnerability of households.
The project team is led by Hedvika Koďousková and further entails Jan Osička and Ph.D. candidate Tereza Stašáková.
The project is conducted by the consulting company EGÚ Brno, a.s. in partnership with the Faculty of Social Studies, Masaryk University.
