Kateřina Fridrichová and Zdeněk Kříž have published an article Diminished Hegemony: Consequences of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine in the journal Problems of Post-Communism. The study concludes that while Russia is positioning itself as a hegemon in the post-Soviet space, its military actions in Ukraine undermine its hegemonic status. The invasion of Ukraine, rather than enhancing its potential, has led to an outflow of material resources and reduced Russia's ability to achieve consensus among those it seeks to lead.
