Filip Černoch and Jan Osička deliver course on EU Energy Policy and Geopolitics in Konstanz

From May 13 to 15, 2025, Filip Černoch and Jan Osička taught an intensive course titled Energy Crisis: The EU's Battle for Competitiveness to students at the University of Konstanz. The course offered a comprehensive introduction to Europe’s ongoing energy crisis, exploring the historical, economic, and political evolution of the energy market, the effects of liberalization and integration, and the transformative impact of decarbonization and renewables. It also addressed the EU’s external energy relations and the geopolitical dimensions of energy dependence. The course concluded with a simulation game in which students founded fictional energy companies and competed for profit, gaining hands-on experience with the challenges of today’s energy governance.
