At the European Consortium for Political Research conference, held during the last week of August at Aristotle University in Thessaloniki, Greece, our colleagues specializing in energy politics and justice research left a significant mark. Our doctoral students played a key role in the presentations as co-authors of the research. The following individuals presented at the conference:

  • Jan Osička co-chaired the "Energy Politics in a Changing World" section and presented the paper "Transition Capture: The Story of Rent-Seeking and Corruption in the Formative Years of Ukraine's Renewable Energy Industry," co-authored by Anton Pushko, a graduate of our Energy Policy Studies program.
  • Lukáš Lehotský chaired the "From Texts to Networks" panel and co-authored the paper "Energy Justice Framework Meets Chronopolitics: A Case Study of Czech Coal Regions Energy Transition" with Ladislav Zářecký, a doctoral student, and Filip Černoch. Lukáš Lehotský also presented the paper "Cross-Border Coal Conflicts: Examining Claim-Making Dynamics in the Turow Lignite Mine Dispute" co-authored by Filip Černoch.
  • Hedvika Koďousková co-chaired the "Unsettling the Governance of Energy (In)justice" panel with Stefan Buzarovski and, together with doctoral student Dominik David, presented the paper "Insulating Inequality: Limits of Housing Retrofit Subsidies in Tackling Energy Poverty in Czechia."
