Monika Brusenbauch Meislová Honoured to Speak on Central Europe at the British Parliament
On 24 June 2025, Monika Brusenbauch Meislová had the exceptional honour of speaking at the British Parliament, at an event titled Central Europe at a Time of European and Transatlantic Challenges. Sharing the panel with Aleks Szczerbiak, Vladimír Bilčík and Alexander Faludy, and chaired by Rt Hon Anneliese Dodds MP, she joined a lively and thought-provoking debate on the pressing issues shaping Central Europe’s role in today’s turbulent European and transatlantic landscape.
Hosted by the Foreign Policy Centre, Aston University/Aston Centre for Europe, and UK in a Changing Europe, the event marked a unique moment to spotlight Central Europe’s challenges and opportunities at the very heart of British democracy. It attracted a full house, with the packed committee room testament to the strong and growing interest in Central Europe’s future.
For Monika, it was the second time she had the opportunity to speak at the British Parliament.
“To share ideas about Central Europe in such an iconic chamber where so much history has been made was profoundly humbling and deeply inspiring in equal measure. Moments like this remind us that dialogue across borders and perspectives is more vital than ever. I am truly grateful for the kind invitation and the chance to be part of it all.”
