Jan Grzymski from Jagiellonian University lectured at the department
Last week, our Department of International Relations and European Studies had the pleasure of hosting visiting scholar Jan Grzymski from Jagiellonian University in Kraków. Jan’s research focuses on European politics, particularly EU neighborhood policies and enlargement strategies. He is also passionate about innovative teaching methods and has designed an educational board game about Brexit negotiations titled 'How to Win Brexit.'
During his stay, Jan delivered a series of guest lectures across various courses, including 'Britain and the European Union,' 'EU Foreign Policy Toward Russia and Eastern Partnership Countries,' and 'Theory of International Relations and European Integration.' Additionally, Jan hosted an engaging session of his 'How to Win Brexit' game right here at the department, transforming the complex topic of Brexit negotiations into a vividly interactive, emotional, and exhilarating (not to mention fun :-) experience.
Students were, indeed, highly excited and fully engaged in this strategic gameplay, which sparked not only competition but also laughter and spirited debates among them :-) Jan very much enjoyed the vibrant exchanges with our students as well as the department’s warm and collegial environment, as reflected in his own words: “I had a great experience with students; I was truly impressed by their fantastic engagement and last but not least with such friendliness and hospitality of the department. I am very grateful for this opportunity.”
