Vít Hloušek and Vratislav Havlík examined the impact of covid on Central European Eurosceptic narratives
In a text published in the journal East European Politics, Vít and Vratislav returned to the time of the pandemic and examined whether covid brought new stimuli for Eurosceptic leaders in Central Europe. Using the example of the prime ministers of the Visegrad Four countries, they found that only Orbán used covid as a creative enrichment of his criticism of the EU. The other prime ministers did not enrich their Eurosceptic narrative in any way, and where they used it, they made do with long-used phrases.
