Osička et al. on Czech Energy Policy
Jan Osička, Filip Černoch, Veronika Zapletalová and Lukáš Lehotský published a new article titled "Too good to be true: Sugarcoating nuclear energy in the Czech national energy strategy". The article was published in the Energy Research & Social Science journal by the Elsevier publishing house.
The article critically reviews the scenario analysis featured in the Czech energy strategy. It shows that the analysis is strongly biased in favor of nuclear energy and appears to be designed to justify rather than inform policy-making. In a wider sense, the article demonstrates that path-dependencies affect not only decision-making practices but also the production of background materials which feed into these practices. The authors appeal to policy-makers to do a better job in substantiating their decisions.
