Kaniok on Parliamentary Debates on Migration
Jan Krotký and Petr Kaniok have published an article titled „Who says what: members of the European Parliament and irregular migration in the parliamentary debates“. The text was published in the prestigious European Security journal.
The piece analyzes parliamentary debates and voting on migration that took place in the European Parliament. Based on the combination of content analysis and set of binary logistic regressions, we the article argues that the left-right division, attitudes toward European integration, and especially the division between the new and old member states are the crucial structural determinants for delivering (human) security speech acts in the plenary speeches.
