Vladimir Vučković Participates in COST Conference at Aarhus University
Vladimir Vučković took part as a panelist at the COST Annual Conference 2026, held in Copenhagen on 28–30 April 2026. The annual conference, organized under the COST Action “Rising nationalisms, shifting geopolitics and the future of European higher education/research openness (OPEN)”, gathered scholars from across Europe to address pressing challenges facing academia and society.
Vučković participated in a spotlight discussion titled “Academic Aspect of Socio-Political Crisis in Serbia: Reflections from Within & Abroad”, where he delivered a contribution on “Socio-political crisis in Serbia and the European Union.”
The panel explored the complex relationship between political developments in Serbia and the role of academia, particularly in the context of recent large-scale protests and institutional tensions. Discussions highlighted how academic communities have responded to increasing political pressure, including concerns over academic freedom, governance, and the autonomy of higher education institutions.
Vučković’s participation in this high-level international forum underscores the department’s active involvement in addressing contemporary geopolitical and societal challenges, as well as its commitment to contributing to debates on the future of European higher education and research.
