9 Sep 2026

Monika Brusenbauch Meislová has received the UACES Mid-Career Research Excellence Award 2026, a prestigious European award recognising excellence in research.

The award recognises significant and sustained research contributions to European Studies. In addition to the originality, impact, and innovative character of research, it acknowledges collaboration, contributions to the academic community, and the potential to further advance the field.

The award was presented for the first time in 2026, making Monika its inaugural recipient. She was selected as the winner from a highly competitive international pool of nominated researchers from across Europe.

The award is presented by the University Association for Contemporary European Studies (UACES), a global professional association based in the United Kingdom that has brought together academics, researchers, students, and practitioners working on Europe and the European Union for more than 50 years. UACES connects the academic community across Europe and beyond and is also associated with the prestigious Journal of Common Market Studies (JCMS), one of the world’s leading journals focusing on European integration and the European Union.

The Mid-Career Research Excellence Award forms part of the UACES Awards, which recognise outstanding achievements in research, teaching, public and societal impact, equality and diversity, and contributions to the development of the academic community.

The award was officially announced on 7 September 2026 during the 56th UACES Annual Conference.
