Martin Chovančík publishes analysis with leading French think tank IRIS
How does Czechia use European instruments for defence planning and cooperation? A new analysis by Martin Chovančík from our department addresses this question. It was published by the French Institute for International and Strategic Affairs (IRIS).
The paper finds that Czech defence plans often align with European priorities, partly because of NATO commitments. EU programmes, however, have had limited influence on the preparation of specific projects. The analysis examines how Czechia uses European support for research, production and procurement, and recommends finding international partners earlier, strengthening staffing and improving the coordination of European cooperation.
