Tomáš Vlček in cooperation with Martin Sivek and Jakub Jirásek (Technical University of Ostrava) and Pavel Kavina (Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic) published paper titled "Lifting lignite mining limits - correction of the Czech Republic raw material and energy policy" in peer reviewed academic journal Energy Sources, Part B: Economics, Planning, and Policy.
The authors focus on the correction of the raw material and energy policies of the Czech Republic related to the territorial ecological limits placed on the mining of lignite. This article explains the background of the mining restrictions and the significance of the Czech government’s decision to amend them for the district heating industry; the composition of the future energy portfolio for electricity production; and the energy security of the Czech Republic.
