Due to recurring formal deficiencies in seminar papers, the Department of International Relations and European Studies FSS MU decided to create guidelines for their drafting. The obligatory force of these guidelines is determined by the lecturer of particular subject.
Each paper has to contain these parts:

1. Title page
The purpose of the title page is to identify the author, subject, title of the paper and the completion date. Therefore, it has to contain the name of the University, faculty and department, the name and identification number of the course according to the IS, the name and university identification number (UČO), study programme combination and the year the author entered the university. The student further indicates the title and type of the paper, whether it is a seminar paper or other paper, the year and place of paper completion. The title page is not considered a separate page, it is therefore not numbered or included in the table of contents.
Summary describes the paper structure. The author indicates name of particular chapters and pages on which they start.
The paper content is formally divided into pages of the usual text editor (A4). One standard page has 30-32 lines of text and 60-65 characters per line. The length of the text itself follows the instructions of the lecturer (number of words or characters).
In case the author of the text quotes the used sources (literature, articles in scholarly or other journals, primary sources, etc.) s/he is obliged to state a full citation including the page number, from which s/he quotes, using a footnote or an endnote function.
The paper should contain an introduction, in which the author indicates the aims, methods, hypotheses, or evaluation of the sources respectively, as well as a conclusion, in which s/he summarizes the previous argumentation.

At the end of the paper, the author states the used sources.
