He finished his Doctoral degree in Political science at Faculty of Social Studies at Masaryk University, where he currently works as an assistant professor. In the field of European Studies he specializes in European integration process. He focuses on specific EU policies, especially on Economic and Monetary Union, further on the issue of EU enlargement and generally on analysis of European politics.
He is the author and co-author of many research texts in the field of European studies and chapters in Rozšiřování ES/EU (2003), Evropská referenda (2005), Měnová integrace, Náklady a přínosy členství v měnové unii (2007), Friendship in the Making (2012), and the author of monograph Jednotná evropská měna (2009).
