The aim of this collection of works is to carry out at least a partial evaluation and a framework comparison between the national politics and the relation between the majority and the minority in Central and Eastern Europe after ten years of changes the region has undergone. The states included in the collection are divided into three categories based on various determinants (historical, political and social) as well as  various approaches to the national politics. The first group consists of the Czech Republic and other V4 countries (Hungary, Slovakia, Poland) that underwent a very similar development and are characterised by a certain level of activities coordination. The second group consists of the countries that emerged after the collapse of the Soviet Union and found themselves in a very specific situation due to the years of extensive Russification. Finally, the publication deals with the area of the former Yugoslavia where the long-term tensions of a national character have recently escalated into an open warfare. The chosen structure is one of the basic preconditions of perspective comparison of national policies in this region.
